'm a True Blood fan. It doesn't matter how it's packaged HBO Series or The Sookie Stackhouse Series of books, and I love it! Know what else I love? COFFEE! There is no doubt in my mind that Sookie and Arlene are serving Community Coffee at Merlotte's. I know this because Sookie and Community Coffee are both in Louisiana. In fact, Community Coffee was there long before Sookie, though it's debatable if Bill Compton was there before the Coffee! Of course, you know the history of Sookie and her Vampire Adventures, but did you know that For four generations, the Saurage family of Louisiana has owned and operated Community Coffee Company? In 1919, Henry Norman "Cap" Saurage discovered the secret of making this great-tasting coffee in his country store in Dixie, Louisiana, near Baton Rouge. He named his coffee "Community" in honor of his community of friends." The rest is history! "Steeped" deep in Southern Hospitality and tradition, the...

How Much Coffee is Right for You?

One of my favorite parts of the week is my visit to Charlotte the Great. She is my 82-year-old grandmother and the love of my life. She comes by once a week, and we spend the afternoon engaged in "girl activities" like manicures and pedicures, enjoying each other's company, and drinking Hazelnut Taster's Choice Coffee. We talked today about how our coffee drinking increases when we are in each other's company. We both enjoy a good cup of "joe" and when we are together we consume nearly four pots of coffee. She and I have been discussing this and tonight I read an article I found on the Taster's Choice Panel called " How Much Coffee is Right for You? "" You can bet I'll be sharing this article with Charlotte the Great on Wednesday. In the meantime, you'll be happy to know that caffeine does NOT affect me and I'm relieved it doesn't interfere with my dreams! How Much Coffee Is Right For You? Some people can drink coffe...

Sometimes Waiting Isn't the Worst Thing

We were giddy and today we learned Sometimes Waiting Isn't the Worst Thing. My grandma called this morning around 11am. She had some errands to run and then she'd be by to visit. She comes over once a week. I usually do her hair and we drink coffee and enjoy being women . My two smaller children were so excited. They refused to nap exclaiming they were waiting for " Charlotte the Great "! By Noon, they were wired from their sleepiness and in need of a nap. So, I promised when Charlotte the Great came, I'd wake them up. By 1pm I was restless. Where was she? My stomach was upset, I contributed this to the six pieces of Hershey's Bliss I'd devoured while waiting. And still...I waited. I really had no place to go, but by 1:30 pm I was feeling like I was late. Like I needed to be somewhere. I think I was just bored and looking forward to "girl time" had me anxious. Then it happened. About 1:57 pm the phone rang. My Grandma on the o...
