Artistry by McKenzie*G Review

Image
Artistry by McKenzie*G Review You may remember not too long ago I did a feature and giveaway for "Artistry by McKenzie*G". As a thank you for that feature, McKenzie sent my girls two absolutely darling hair accessories. They've been wearing them and getting so many compliments. The first hair accessory my girls unwrapped was this large hot pink, white and black hair barrette. It is adorned with beads and buttons and is perfect for so many hairstyles. Abi's favorite way to wear it is at the top of a ponytail.     My MacKenzie likes to wear it to hold up her short hair.  The barrette is sturdy. It is of high-quality. My girls usually complain that the barrettes trap their hair and then we have to struggle to unwind their hair from the clasps. We have not had this issue with the Aristry by McKenzie*G hair clip. It has held securely and does not tangle the hair. The backside of the clip is a soft, hot pink knit. It is very professional looking and made with great craft...

Southern Ooaks Feature

Image
Southern Ooaks Feature I love Faeries, Santa and all things Southern. It's an eclectic list I know. I'm diverse and original! While blog hopping, I ran across an amazing artist with some truly unique sculptures and jewelry. Meet S. Regina Moore, a Southern Gal from Alabama. She is delightful and engaging. "Being a true GRITs (girl raised in the South) I wanted a catchy name that folks would remember and connect with. The South is known for its huge oak trees so I came up with Southern Ooaks. My ooaks is of course "one of a kind sculpts". I asked if she had a storefront. "Haven't gotten that brave just yet BUT I'm working on it. Right now I sell by way of email and then letting folks pay with money orders. Being the old school Southern gal I think snail mail is still useable!!!!" I spent a very long time just reading through her posts and looking at her one of a kind creations coming to life before me. I love the story behind each one and the de...

Precious Angel Bows Etsy Feature

One of my daughters' favorite things is hairbows! They love ponytails with giant bows or small braids with bows. Even a dainty up-do requires the perfect bow. I have to admit I love it. I love the variety of colors, ribbon textures, and doo-dads that guarantee the bow complements a favorite outfit. Precious Angel Bows is based out of Athens, Georgia. and named after her first daughter. "Precious Angel is what I called my first daughter, and I wanted my business name to reflect something that meant a lot to me." Sometimes it takes a while to find the right outlet. "I never had much luck on eBay and when I heard about Etsy I thought it would be the perfect place to sell my bows." Not one to quit or become discouraged, Precious Angel Bows is persistent. "I taught myself to make bows. I bought instructions and sat for hours tying bow after bow until I got it down. I really just wanted to make them for my daughter but then I fell in love with making them and wa...

Tracie Seed Design Feature

Image
We are always on the go! It's a chaotic comedy at its best. To minimize stress, each kiddo has their own tote. They are responsible for keeping it filled with activities to entertain them, snacks, and anything that they might need to endure: errand running, a sibling's recital, or just a long car ride. It's a great concept, though not foolproof. While looking at various tote ideas, I ran across Tracie Seed Designs. A shop named after the owner/creator herself, "I like the sound of my name, and I do so many different arts and crafts that I thought Designs encompassed all that. Plus, I had a business with the same name several years ago. Just wanted to keep it consistent." Tracie Seed Designs materialized because Tracie "wanted a venue not only to sell my products but to showcase my creativity. It is easy to use and has low fees for listing products. I thought it was an economical way to start out rather than hosting my own website." This shop offers a se...

Freckles Galore!

My children love to color. They color at home and they like to color on the go. Sometimes the Tupperware box is too bulky to be convenient and NOTHING ruins dinner out more than when the restaurant gives all the children two colors...THE SAME COLORS!   I've complained and I've whined, just like my kiddos! There has to be a solution for this. I want something compact and yet large enough to offer a choice of colors!   Thankfully Carrie, owner and creator of "Freckles Galore!" thought ahead and did something about this crayon catastrophe! She offers "Crayon Roll-Ups"...they are delightful!   Aside from discovering her "crayon rolls", I had to stop and giggle at what a fun name her shop has, "Freckles Galore!" I have six children, two have freckles, it's just in the DNA I'm told. I love that Carrie embraces this. "I wanted my shop name to be fun, unique, and something easy to remember. I also wanted it to reflect me and my kids...

Artistry by McKenzie G Custom Hair Accessories

Image
Artistry by McKenzie G.  Feature  One of my favorite movies is " My Fair Lady ." I love Eliza Doolittle. I love the awkwardness and crassness that transforms into this elegant, beautiful woman. It doesn't hurt that I also love Audrey Hepburn as that character. Also inspired by Audrey Hepburn is McKenzie Guymon from Idaho! A Cosmetologist by profession, she understands issues women have in finding an accessory that captures who they are, "I have always loved anything vintage inspired! When I was looking for vintage inspired hair accessories , I couldn't ever find things I liked, so I created my own!!" Mckenzie is the founder and creator of "Artistry by McKenzie G" where she creates vintage inspired hair accessories. "I am a cosmetologist and have always loved playing with hair and have also always been a crafter. The 2 just easily mixed when I started to create in my little craft room!" When considering a name for her business, McKenzie ...
