Pigeon Point, California

When I was 13, we moved to North Carolina, where I saw my first lighthouse, Cape Hatteras. After climbing the stairs the lens room was incredible with the many prisms reflecting the sun. It set my love for lighthouses.
One of my favorite lighthouses is Pigeon Point Lighthouse. Located in Pescadero, California it is the second tallest lighthouse on the west coast at 115 feet.
The white masonry tower sits on the cliff with a light flash every ten seconds. The lens previously had been installed at Cape Hatteras, North Carolina.
I like to think that this lens lead me on my journey coast-to-coast, just as it has many sailors at sea, welcoming them to the Pacific Coast and guiding them through the storms since 1872.
