5 Truly Amazing Places to Visit in Malaysia

 One of the great hidden gems of Southeast Asia is Malaysia. Malaysia is a great country to visit, and there are plenty of places to visit.

But with the plethora of choices to see in the country, it can be hard to figure out what you should see.

Malaysia is one of the most diverse countries in Asia, and possibly, the world.

It is often overlooked by many of its neighbors in Southeast Asia. 

But this shouldn't be the case! It is a great country to visit, and we know you'll love seeing the following places.

3D Trick Art Museum

You probably weren't expecting this, but one of the best attractions in Malaysia is the Penang 3D Trick Art Museum. 

It is an interactive museum where you can explore classic and contemporary Malaysian art.

You will get to see how traditional Malaysian life was - and still is for many locals.

You will also get to see artistic depictions of contemporary Malaysian life - juxtaposed with what was and what is.

You can also take photographs of yourself with any backdrop of your choice; it will appear as if you are the subject of the painting!

Kuala Lumpur

You will probably see the capital city anyway. 

We encourage you to explore as much of it as you can.

It is a thriving metropolis with so much to see.

We recommend seeing the luxurious Petronas Towers - the tallest twin towers in the world.

We also suggest going to the various street food markets and sampling the diverse Malaysian cuisine.

The three main ethnic groups are Malay, Chinese, and Indian.

Make sure you sample food from all these three cuisines.

Georgetown

The other great city is Georgetown on the island of Penang.

There are many museums, historical colonial architecture, and an even greater selection for street food.

It is also a great place to view street art, enjoy world-class coffee, and go shopping at quaint Malaysian shops as well as established luxury boutiques.

Perhentian Islands

Budget travelers often frequent these islands.

Even if this doesn't include you, we recommend you visit.

You can relax on the beaches and enjoy the sunset.

You can also go swimming and snorkeling.

At night there are beach parties where everyone is invited.

The islands are accessible by speedboats and accommodation will have to be booked in advance due to limited availability.

Borneo

No trip to Malaysia is complete without a visit to Borneo.

You will get to experience rainforests, jungles, and more of Malaysia's stunning nature.

If you enjoy wildlife, you will get to see the rare orangutans among other animals.

During the summer, there are also several music festivals and other cultural events on Borneo.

Best Friends: A Reunion After 14 Years

 It had been a long, long time. Unbelievably, time did NOT standstill. People came and went in our lives. Sometimes Waiting Isn't the Worst Thing

We were giddy and today we learned Sometimes Waiting Isn't the Worst Thing. My grandma called this morning around 11am. She had some errands to run and then she'd be by to visit. She comes over once a week. I usually do her hair and we drink coffee and enjoy being women . My two smaller children were so excited.
