We're back from soccer camp and resuming demolition of the house. Before we started, my dad had a 45' conex box delivered. While we were gone, someone came in and moved the conex box. Before we can begin demolition of the Great Room and the Laundry Room. Everything my dad owns has to be moved outside to the conex box. It is still boxed up from his move to the East Coast and has been stored in the Great Room. As I've said, nothing has been easy with this project, and moving the boxes will be no exception. There is now wonky steps leading off the front porch, where the man caught them with a backhoe, and he removed ALL the concrete so we have a giant mud pit because it recently rained. The mud pit is not just at the base of the stairs, it covers the ENTIRE area from the stairs to the conex box. My husband's not a quitter, so he starts hauling all my dad's possessions, one by one. Meanwhile, the kiddos are working hard, picking up all the concrete chunks the man left ...

The Beauty Queen turned ten a couple of weeks ago. We spent the weekend at Snowbird enjoying the cooler mountain temperatures, dipping in the pool and enjoying time together. The kiddos were sad when it was time to pack up and leave. When they arrived home, t he Groovy SparkleUps Kit, from the Orb Factory were waiting to save the day! Both my girls are into the Hippie vibe. They love the happy colors and fun designs. I selected the Groovy SparkleUps kit. When The Beauty Queen saw it her eyes lit up and she was giddy with anticipation. [   I remember paint by numbers as a kid. In fact, my mom and I started one when I was maybe eight that involved clowns. Each night we would do one number. Then I had a babysitter, who decided to finish it for us. SparkleUps are like paint by numbers, only instead of paint, they use self-adhering jewels.  Good For millions of families around the country, braces and childhood tend to go hand-in-hand. This leaves many moms with lots of questions about what life with braces will be like for their child. Common questions range from when kids should first see the orthodontist to what types of food are off-limits. The more parents know what to expect, the less they will fear the process, and be able to help their children enjoy and get the most out of their treatment experience. Li'l Man has been wearing Invisalign for a month now, and he absolutely loves them. He is smiling more and caring for his teeth has become more of a priority for him. “ Getting braces doesn’t have to be a scary process, but it can be if you haven’t had some of the more common questions answered ahead of time, ” explains Dr. Karson Kupiec, a second-generation orthodontist at Kupiec Orthodontics & Pediatric Dentistry, located in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. “ The last thing you want is to go into the treatment proc...

Jennie-O has provided coupons to me in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own. Thanksgiving is a time to come together with family and gather around the table for some turkey and all the fixings. It's a time of reflection to look back on the year and see the progress, the new people who have entered your life, and reflect on those who are no longer around the table. The house smells amazing, the children are giddy, and by the end of the day, bellies are full, and there is something for which to be thankful. The first year I cooked Thanksgiving as the hostess, there were some 30-people. I spent the night, bathing a turkey to defrost it by morning. Then I cooked it, for hours. It emerged looking like charcoal briquettes on turkey bones. T here was devastation. My year of redemption I spent so much time focused on the bird, I spent hours bathing it in butter and checking in every 15 minutes to make sure it didn't get out of hand and dry. As we sat down to eat, my ...
